So ive changed my car and the paintwork is quite good so I'm going to try and make a genuine effort with this one so I said I'd come to the experts and hopefully get some advice.

    1. Can anyone recommend one or a few different decent easy to use tar removers.

    2. I only have the car 8 days 1k km and already the front is absolutely caked in flies any products or techniques to make cleaning them off less painful.

    3. Although the engine bay is not particularily dirty is not that clean either. What should I use to clean shine up the black plastic parts under there.

    4. Can anyone recommend a decent easy to use product for cleaning alloy wheels or removing brake dust, dirt, tar.

    5. Any recommendations on a decent drying cloth to use.

    6. I generally use autoglym shampoo which seems grand but any other suggestions.

    7. For polishing I use srp and then EGP which I know is not up to some peoples standard but I am getting handy at using it and find it good enough for what I want but what is the best applicator for it microfibre cloth or ?

    8. The car has a lot of black plastic now I know you can get that c4 stuff for a long lasting shine but I'm looking for a more middle ground product that will give a reasonably long lasting shine but that I can use at every clean.

I realise that's a lot of questions so even if you can only answer one it would be very helpful thanks.

Would have replied sooner only it would have been a nightmare on the phone! Anyways...

    1. Can anyone recommend one or a few different decent easy to use tar removers.
Car Pro TarX, 50Cal Target, Orchard Autocare Tar Cleanse - all spray on, allow dwell and rinse off

    2. I only have the car 8 days 1k km and already the front is absolutely caked in flies any products or techniques to make cleaning them off less painful.
The problem is, any product that would remove them easily will likely affect your wax or sealant on the car. Soak them in hot water, will help lift them.

    3. Although the engine bay is not particularily dirty is not that clean either. What should I use to clean shine up the black plastic parts under there.
You'll need to give the plastics a wipe down with a mild APC initially, then any trim dressing applied will finish them off nicely. Car Pro PERL is a nice product as it dilutes to suit your needs. Engine Bay plastics for example, 1 part product to 3 parts water. Can be used neat on tyres for good durabilty, and 1 part product to 5 parts water on interior plastics.

    4. Can anyone recommend a decent easy to use product for cleaning alloy wheels or removing brake dust, dirt, tar.
One of the best products out there for keeping on top of the build up of contamination would be Bilt Hamber Auto Wheel, as it contains fall out remover in it. And its only really needed every 3rd or 4th wash, if you wash regularly to keep the wheels in tip top shape. Unfortunately, build up of tar will continue and once every few months, you will need to treat for same.

    5. Any recommendations on a decent drying cloth to use.
Microfiber Madness Dry Me Crazy - I wouldnt even consider anything else. Im sure a few on here could back me up on that.

    6. I generally use autoglym shampoo which seems grand but any other suggestions.
It is grand, but I find you need to use a lot, and I mean a lot of it, to get a solution that I would consider slick enough that I'd be happy to use on the car. Bilt Hamber Auto Wash, 50Cal Tracer shampoo would be worth considering when you have used your current batch of AG shampoo.

    7. For polishing I use srp and then EGP which I know is not up to some peoples standard but I am getting handy at using it and find it good enough for what I want but what is the best applicator for it microfibre cloth or ?
The AG SRP & EGP is a very decent combo. And often its better the devil you know, so if it works for you, then stick with it.
Use a foam pad to apply the SRP, a plush microfiber to buff it off. When Ive used EGP in the past, Ive found that using it via a sprayer is a much better way to use it. Using it straight from the bottle always results in tipping out too much, soaking the applicator and this means you cant apply it thinly. Two thin coats is far better than two lashed on, and easier to buff too. I found spritzing a microfiber applicator pad/sponge initially, and then direct to the panel, then just spread with the applicator gives a much more even layer.

    8. The car has a lot of black plastic now I know you can get that c4 stuff for a long lasting shine but I'm looking for a more middle ground product that will give a reasonably long lasting shine but that I can use at every clean.
Dont know why you would want to do such a painful job, at every clean. Look at any water based trim dressing if you want something that will be pretty much washed off between wash to wash. Car Pro PERL though, I think is what you are looking for. Something that is durable enough but not vital you keep it topped up after every wash.

I realise that's a lot of questions so even if you can only answer one it would be very helpful thanks.
    Hope that helps! :)

Thanks so much for that curran I couldn't have asked for a better response :) I'll make up a list and order up that stuff. Hopefully having the right products will make it a bit easier and make for a better result.
