I've seen recently a sports car initially I thought it was a Maserati or Aston Martin but having checked online I don't think it was either of these although it looked similar. In the frot grill and at the back there was some sort of T symbol - I'm thinking it could be Tesla but I'm not 100% sure here. Maybe this description rings a bell to any of you ?

They are fast and all but since when are saloons counted as supercars?

Super car my ass...You can't even drive one of these yokes from Cork to Belfast without stopping halfway to recharge it's batteries... And this takes hours, so it would be a very long and leisurely lunch break..:D

I think the term is used very loosely these days, definitely in this case as an electric 4 door family car is definitely not a supercar but we knew what the OP meant :p

Tesla doesn't do dealerships. They have their own shops. You're not likely to see them until next year.

The Model S would do Cork to Belfast on a single charge. It'd be tight, but it's within its range.

And Tesla are putting in charging stations on the motorways and cities, so there's obviously a market here for them.

Yes the Tesla model S is a fantastic machine, although with it's €65,000 price tag only the well scrubbed middle classes will be able to afford one. When the oil runs out the rest of us will be forced to hoof it..

Think someone here mentioned before that the price over here is closer to €100k?

    Short 1 mile.

    266 miles: https://www.google.ie/maps/dir/Belfast,+United+Kingdom/Cork/@53.2153204,-9.5809145,7z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m14!4m13!1m5!1m1!1s0x4860fffdd7d08a3b:0x2e57162cefc7c531!2m2!1d-5.93012!2d54.597285!1m5!1m1!1s0x4844900891beb961:0xa00c7a99731c5d0!2m2!1d-8.4863157!2d51.8968917!3e0?hl=en
The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) official range for the Model S Performance model equipped with an 85 kWh battery pack is 265 miles (426 km), topping the Tesla Roadster to lead the electric car market.

Base model is 65k ex vat on the EU website. Throw on a few extras and add your 23% and 100k is not far away. Spec up a high powered one and it's well over 100

Are you sure it wasn't a Maserati Ghibli?
Being a diesel it is the supercar for Ireland.

Frank Keane Volkswagon has one for sale with 92Miles on the clock.

    151 reg in black.

    Ms

I think if you want to buy a Tesla here you have to buy it in England. They do not deal directly in Ireland yet. If the owners have any problems with there cars or it need,s to be serviced a specialist is sent to Ireland from England. Thats what I seen somewhere online.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

Visited one of their stores in Vancouver, they don't have one yet but are expanding in Europe and we will probably get one eventually. I guess depending on the demand for the cars the network will roll out as well.

I like them but after seeing so many in Vancouver they nearly became common :P Didn't think the front seats were very sporty/supportive either and shocking orangepeel in the paint (same for pretty much any car these days). It's probably still the only electric car I'd actually like (excluding any fancy supercars)
