Asked to cancel Paypal claim?

I returned an item I purchased off ebay, supplier claimed it never arrived. I opened a dispute and through ebay messaging provided proof of delivery. Supplier has agreed to refund but says they cant process it while the claim is outstanding. I'm worried that if I cancel the claim, I may not get refunded and I wont be able to reopen the claim.

    Any advice?

    Thanks

Don't cancel it, I don't think you can reopen it once closed. They should be able to refund at any time even if claim is open. Tell them if they don't know how to refund to contact Paypal support by email or phone.

Yeah, you definitely cannot re-open a closed claim, so don't do that. This is a common enough ploy by some people to get the buyer to cancel a claim and then they don't have to pay back at all.

Don't dream of closing it, if it times out, you will get still get a refund. Did you send it back by tracked delivery?

  • DO NOT CANCEL THE CLAIM!!!!! I got caught by that by some saddo years and years ago. Pathetic ploy used by unscrupulous people.
