A Dublin bus ran into my partners car last august while we were stationery at the lights. There were 4 of us in the car and each contacted my solicitor to commence a personal injury claim through PIAB. We all suffered whiplash and my partner suffered back spasms and still has them 9 months later. I was more or less fully recovered after 6 months. Yesterday I received my assessment from PIAB with an amount of €7500 for general damages. After legal fees, hospital fees etc, I will end up with €5762. Do you think I should accept this assessment or reject it and go through the court process. I have to admit, I am a bit disappointed with the low amount assessed. There are other external factors that I have endured because of the accident but they obviously wouldn't be included in a medical report.
