Income Tax & PAYE

    Hi looking for some help.

I seem to be still registered for Income Tax. I left the company where I was a director in 2012. I have been paying PAYE since this. Would this have affected my PAYE? Would I have been paying too much? I have ceased the income tax now. Just wondering if anyone would know?

    Thanks

You write as if income tax and PAYE are two different taxes.

    They aren't.

PAYE is simply a way of paying income tax due.

I assume that you mean you are still registered as Self Assessed for tax purposes.

This doesn't just automatically cancel itself (if this is what you are referring to). You need to formally cancel the IT taxhead by completing a TRCN1 form
