    Are these welds any good ? My son done them - he is 15 .. If not have ye any tips? He welded them with a inverter welder

    Lots of inclusions, slag being welded over.
    Looks like the paint wasn't sufficiently cleaned off the bigger piece.
    Welds need very clean surfaces, the cleaner the better.
    The biggest problem is that you can't see if there is full penetration on the weld, you need to run one bead not lots of small blobs.
    Can you get him to weld straight lines on flat plate? repeat until he can get the arc distance right and penetration shows on the back of the plate.

    There is plenty of info online for welding instruction, and its well worth lookin at some sites to get tips.
    One more thing welding fumes aren't great for health so maybe consider getting him a welding respirator considering he is so young.
    Also do not weld galvanised steel, the fumes are deadly.

    Good start.

    Do more prep, clean rust and paint free surfaces weld better and easier.

    As previous poster said, practice lots on simpler welds.
