Airport Extreme and Time Machine

I recently bought one of the latest Airport Extremes and set up Time Machine using a USB HDD.
    It worked with no problems.

However, I had to do a reset on the AE and since then TM won't recognize the backup.

I can use finder and see the 340GB. I can click on any of the individual backups and see the files.

If I then double click on it a disk image "Time Machine Backups" is mounted. Using option click and the TM icon, then I can
browse other backups and load the backups into TM with full history.

But, a big but, if I then turn on automatic backups I am back to not having the history. TM tells me the balance of the HDD is available for use.

The same thing happened a few weeks ago and I found instructions on how to correct the sparse bundle but I can't find it again!

I've been through Pondini several times but can't find anything that works.

check that the name of your mac in sharing preferences is the same as the name of the folder in the backups folder.
