I have a 04 ford galaxy, sometimes when i put the kids in the back and close their doors the central locking locks all the doors itself. Now usually i will remember to keep keys on me but in a rush this morning threw keys on driver seat, put kids into their seat closed door and car locked. I had to pry out door and fish keys out. Any ideas what the problem is or how to fix. Thanks

I'm glad you managed to open the dorr, with the kids in the car and all.

From google this seems common enough.
One suggestion is to make sure the locking control box under a front seat is not water damaged.

Hi this was happening with my car and it turned out that the spare fob which was in the house was faulty or the battery was going in it and when the car was in the drive way it was locking and unlocking. I only noticed because I saw the light flashing on the spare fob and I took the battery out of that one and no more problems.

Check the wiring inside the rubber sleeve that runs from the door to the body in the rear doors.
The connector is a 1/4 turn and it comes away from the door. the wires inside break from fatigue causing these symptoms.
It might also be something else but I have seen this before in Galaxies.

lots of cars relock after opening if you dont turn the ignition key on inside the time frame.

My 08 smax will relock after unlocking doors but only if you don't open a door/boot. Once this happens the auto relock is disabled.
