Im looking to take down an old garden fence and replace it with a block wall about 6ft high, would i use cavity blocks or standard block on edge, another thing is roughly how much is a bale of both standard 8 inch block, and cavity block, also roughly what area would a bale of blocks cover? Thanks.

Standard block on edge will do (don't forget pillars). About 1 euro a block outside Dublin from a quarry, about 1.50 if buying fewer or from hardware shop. Don't go over 6ft high because of regs (You'll be liable if someone falls off it).
