One for food and one for drinks, wouldn't one suffice. Is it all not metal?

Food cans are metal, drink cans are aluminium.

You are aware that aluminium is a metal, right?

Most metal food containers are some form of iron / steel coat in tin - hence they are referred to as 'tins' of food. They often have paper labelling, which needs to be removed. Any food remains can attract vermin.

Most metal drinks cans are aluminium. They rarely have applied labelling. As they only contained drinks, they need less cleaning.

It's simply a matter of pre-sorting the materials, reducing the need for sorting and cleaning at the recycling plant.

What you need are three metal recycling bins.

Some time back some enterprising gentlemen ordered three scrap metal skips.
A couple of days later the first skip was picked up full of scrap and the lads were paid.

Of course they disappeared before it was realised that what the skip actually contained was the cut up remains of the other two.

Last October in the UK, aluminium cans were being bought at £731 per tonne, steel cans at £129.
