Oil on engine

    I will drop into a garage tomorrow anyway but I've noticed oil over my engine. Cleaned it off and checked again and it's back again. Will need to prob top up oil now. What oil should I get for my petrol 1.4? And does anyone have an idea what it might be? It was serviced in Feb and not due another service for 7000km so thought anything major would have been picked up then.

    February was 3 months ago, anything could've happened since then. You have a leak somewhere, definitely get it checked.

    You haven't said what car you drive.

    If you ring garage they will tell what oil they used at service so you'll know what to buy.

    Could be just dipstick not pushed in completely or loose oil filling cap. Any decent motor factors will tell you most suitable oil when they ask make/model ,mileage.
