Best graphics card for this spec?

    Hi,

I have a PC with the following specs that I want to add a graphics card to for gaming.
I'm not sure if the CPU would be a bottleneck so I don't want to get the wrong card.

Does anyone know the best bang for my buck for a graphics card to play most modern game (COD, total war, etc.)?
It'll be mainly on the monitor below, but it would be good to have the option to output to a 40" 1080P TV if possible.

    CPU: Intel Core i3 3220 @ 3.30GHz

    RAM: 8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 665MHz (9-9-9-24)

Motherboard: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. P8B75-M LX (LGA1155)

    Graphics: SyncMaster (1680x1050@60Hz)

PSU: OCZ OCZ500MXSP-UK ModXstream Pro 500W ATX Power Supply

I hope to upgrade to a new PC later in the year, so I'd rather not have to swap any of the existing parts.

    Thanks in advance,

No need spending huge money if you'll be upgrading later, or else buy large now and carry the card over?

Have you a budget in mind, either way

GTX750 or GTX750Ti I would imagine. Doesn't require extra power from the supply, excellent performance for the money, your other specs are actually fine. I'm assuming it's some sort of brand-name machine like HP or Acer, etc?

I'll probably not go mad just yet given the AMD 300 series are coming out soon, along with Skylake.

Budget is somewhere around €120 - €180 or so.

It's actually a build i did a while back for a home server/Nas, but I want to also use as a gaming machine for 6 months or so until the new generations of CPUs are out.

What about an R9 280/285? Would this be suitable or would the CPU be a bottleneck?

Yeah 750Ti as Terror mentioned is your best bet, about €130 new

Would an R9 280/285 fit this spec? Would these be a better spec than the 750Ti?

Yeah 280 is a nice hack better, more power consumption though. If you've less than 400w PSU I'd be sure to check it out first

I have a 500w PSU so this should be ok? (OCZ OCZ500MXSP-UK ModXstream Pro 500W ATX).
