New homes and Wind Turbines

    Hi all,

I have recently come into posession of a 1 hectare plot, which i plan on building a home on in the future.

Issue being that there are wind turbines planned for an area nearby, which would see the nearest turbine to my potential new home being 750metres away.

Based on this i have a number of questions:

1 - If the project goes ahead, would i be prevented from ever getting planning permission in the future?

2 - Do i need to put in an application for myself now, just to try get approval before the turbines go up (if they do).

3 - Is there something i can do re: devaluation of the land, based on proximity to the turbines?

(For the record, i am all for turbines, but they should have been built on all the spent bogs in the midlands, where there's not a sinner, and no residents to annoy)

    Regards,

    CC.

I can't see how the planned building of the wind turbines will affect your planning, the question is more to do with whether you want to build in a location that is likely to have a turbine in relatively close by.

There is a limit of 500m I could be wrong.
Has the planning been granted for the turbines?

    Hi
You can request a meeting with the planners to discuss they should give you an idea some dont want to commit but you can also submit a pre planning application €60 from council offices outlining briefly your build etc. which will give you answers and documentation and also be on record.
    good luck.
