Carpet for stairs - vertical stripes or plain (no pattern)

Glad of advice on getting stairs & landing carpeted - stairs is "half landing" type - 9 steps, then a landing, then a further 6 steps at 180degrees to first flight. Wondering which will be easier to fit & look better ? Will the vertical stripe carpet be difficult to keep lines straight in fitting and continuing through on landing or is a non patterned ( plain) carpet easier to fit and more "relaxed" or neater looking ?
Any advice welcome ? Thanks !

We got a striped carpet on ours earlier this year.
    Small turn at bottom.

    Think it looks well.

Can email you some pic if you PM your email address.
