Sorry MODS i could not find my orignal pen testers banned from flights post :-
    http://www.wired.com/2015/05/feds-say-banned-researcher-commandeered-plane/

Plus i think now it deserves its own thread as concepts and tools used are now mentioned as well as confirmation he did infact take over control of some elements of the plane.
sending climb command and overwritting the code for the engine managment system(While in flight). So yes rooted phone or decent lappy is now a weapon on flights in my eyes. (Very easily he could have brought down that plane)

It's not confirmation at all, all it's confirmation of is that the FBI claim that he said he did once upon a time while in an interview.

Graham Cluley does a decent overview of it, plus security weekly had an interview with Chris Roberts a while back where he gave an overview of what happened:

Scary - I'm cagey enough when I'm running exploits on test/validation systems never mind a freakin' plane!

I'd rather the pilot do the flying thanks

Buddy i went to school with is a primary Engineer in lufthansa must give him an aul call for a chat , he works with avionics only . It would seem by the statements made that the buses do infact cross or interconnect and that is a direct abuse of the laws governing flight avioncs and bus communications.
