It's a pieris - possibly forest flame or similar

Thanks, after googling Pieris I have come to the conclusion its a Pieris Japonica 'bert chandler'. Would local garden centers have these I wonder?

Not a common variety so I doubt it.

It's more likely to be the plain old Forest Flame variety imo. Most garden centres would still have those in stock.

It's a fashionable plant so I think garden centres would have it. I see these everywhere.

I have one growing in my back garden. Beautiful plant. Loves acid soil and mine thrives in a shady position. Flame of the Forest.

I think my post might have been confusing...

I was saying Pieris 'Bert Chandler' was not commonly available - if at all - but Pieris 'Forest Flame' is freely available In almost every garden centre.

Your post was perfectly clear, it's just the vast majority of people don't read correctly, they only see what they want to hear.
