First time buying from a dealer

    Hi,

I currently have a Peugeot 206 2002 1.1L, but its not in the best of shape tbh. It needs bushens, other few bits and a good old service, but I have seen a nice Nissan Almera 2005 1.5L in one of my local dealers for €1,950 which I think is a good price since my neighbour bought a similar one for €4k last October.

The only thing is I've never bought from as dealer as my Peugeot was just taking up space for someone else and I got it handy enough, so therefore I've never had to 'deal' before.

So my first question is how much could I epect to get for my current car for trade in, taking into account theres about €500-600 euros of work to be done, and secondly taking that into account what would be a good price to offer for the Nissan?

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated :)

With the Almera only being €1950, there's little room to take the 206 as trade in, you would be lucky to get a couple of hundred.

The 206 is worth next to nothing to a dealer. Anything they will give you in the way of a trade-in price will most likely still be added onto the price of the Almera. Better off selling it privately outlining what needs to be done to it, you might get €400/€500 for it depending on the overall condition.

The dealer will not be interested in a trade in and it removes any bargaining power that you have.... sell your own through donedeal privately
