Makes you look overly awkward/potentially litigious IMHO.

So I take it that there's no way to "ask" an agency to not share your CV amongst other agencies? (as happened with me before)

    As MA said.
Offhand, copyright happens when a work is created which so applies to a CV. The OP might have better luck in insisting under the Data Protection acts that the CV is not passed onto 3rd parties as this might fall under further processing. The T&C of any web agency should have their policy set out.

It's more likely that you gave it to one brand, and they shared it with colleagues operating other brands in the same agency. Nothing you can do will stop that.

Yep I'd say this happened rather than ops reasoning, makes no sense for rival agencies to share cvs

    I don't suppose there's a way I can insist they don't cold-call me after I take a job posted by them?

As mentioned before a lot of the jobs I'm finding are being posted up by agencies rather than employers (which would be my preference).

Took 5 years to stop a few agencies calling me after I asked they remove my details off their db.

You could buy SIM card. Use that phone number when job hunting. A remove it when in a job.

    Not bad idea ;)

Hmm might have to see if I still have a working second phone somewhere.

Who has the cheapest (or temporary) SIM card at the mo?
