Looking forward to watching this one closely. Hope to make it to Skerries to watch the last day.

Do we have a boards roll call?

Got a guide to the Ras in the door the other day. Nice guide to it. Wonder if it went out to every one.

Best wishes to all once again, not forgetting the volunteers and officials, including our man Tommy, who will yet again be on the clock, counting everybody in, hopefully inside the limit each day.
Hot spot prime in Naas around 1pm tomorrow; pace should be hectic, bunch in long line, probably split, as the route from Straffan thru Sallins and Naas would do justice to an orienteering course!

Ras has rolling closures- prime at the post office main st at about 1pm. It will be gone in a flash. Minor disruption.

To get a close-up view, the canal bridge in Sallins would be ideal. Apparently the race comes down the north bank of the canal, 90 degree right followed by 180 degree left and up over the bridge and down the narrow main street before hitting the roundabout at Milennium Park. Should be interesting

As far as I know they send the guides out to houses that are along the route.
Not 100% certain on this though

Went to the start, met a few people I know, great buzz about the place.Seen Eddie Dunbar's bike in the NFTO pit area, they must be using it as a spare.

Dunbar was around at the start in dunboyne

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,409 ✭✭✭sullzz

took a few pics at Barberstown roundabout earlier.
Conor Dunne was leading the group in , there were a few way back with the follow cars , one lad had a cut to his leg , possibly a crash or a fall earlier on , there were bad crosswinds on the straight from maynooth to barbertown roundabout.

Talked to someone at ntfo van, asking why Dunbar's bike was there. They said he is back on the bike riding out but not yet fit for racing. Presumably means recovery going well.

Some video footage of Main St. Naas and the Hacketstown KOM captured by some of our members today; you might spot some boardsies there, especially in Hacketstown. Posted on our fbook page this evening

Looking at the weather forecast there, they have a hard few days ahead of them.

Planning to take my two young boys to see the race pass today.

Could go to Cahir, the finish in Tipp Town or head to Glen of Aherlow for the final KOM - what do you thing the kids would get most mileage out of? Is there any kind of party, flags etc at the finish?

Actually Id go to the Start. Mingle with the riders, and there's a good atmosphere too.

Thanks, not an option today. May head to the finish then, though it's a straight run in, no laps of the town.

Its getting shorter and quickly but he is still ahead by 2 minutes with 12km to go

This is turning into quite the unproductive day in work

    Feck it -
overnight race leader, Francesco Reda has been disqualified. An interesting communiqué from the Commissaire is awaited.

Irvine up to 2nd now (come on Martyn!).

    Edit - added the spoiler

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,200 ✭✭✭manwithaplan

For holding on to the team car apparently. Must have been a very very sticky bottle to get disqualified. Wonder did he get distanced somehow and overdid it.
