    2002 156 with a 1.8 twin spark.

Just wondering is it recomended to use standard plugs or not or has anyone tried them? Bit of a price difference and dont mind changing the plugs every year, so was thinking of chancing them. Never heard of anyone using the normal ones

    NGK BKR6EKPA and PMR7A

    Sorry meant platinum not iridium.

Those ones biko are 22 euro each online. 176 euro... 155 here locally.

The standard bosch 14 mm plug to replace the bkr6ekpa is 3.50. Just wondering is there any harm in using them (coil packs etc.)or if they reduce performance? The current plugs have 60000 miles on them. No misfires or that but im guessing the 3.50 bosch plugs might improve things??

My plan was to stick in the bosch 14mm ones. Get the ngk 10mm prm7a ones for christmas then and see how the bosch ones get on over the next year or so.

This seems like the thread. http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/alfa-147-156-andamp-gt/520537-t-spark-spark-plugs.html

first decent one ive read on it actually. The others just said use ngk without giving a reason. No one mentions the 3 euro standard bosch plugs affecting the Ignition system.

I would stick to the manufacturers recommendations.

Some spark plugs have precise resistance and the ignition works in conjunction with the plugs.

I know for sure, if you put wrong plugs in to Saab 9-5, you might a well start looking for a new ignition cassette.
