    Hi,
I have been on Jobseekers allowance for about 2 years now and I just cam back from the post office to collect my €188 usual payment however it seems to have been docked to €144. No deductions were listed.I'm well over 25 so that's not the issue. I was not informed in anyway prior, however I live in a shared house and sometimes the post has the potential to go walkabouts.

Has anybody else had this happen? Any reason why this would happen?

It seems as if a penalty rate has been applied to your claim. Have you failed to attend interviews with activation or declined taking part in gateway, tus or ce scheme. It none of this applies then you need to call into your office and find out the reason.

Do they not have to tell you in advance that they will be reducing your payment?

They wrote to you and asked you to come to a meeting at your local SW office and told you in the letter that your JSA would be reduced if you didn't attend.
