spraying thistles

Look of a few reccomdations lads, I have 20 acres with thistle that are at the right stage to spray the 2 sprays that have been reccomended to me are mcpa @ €7 per acre and thistlex @€;15 acre.

The man in the shop said that mcpa will only work for the year and next year ill have to spray again which means paying the contractor twice

So what's peoples exsperience of mcpa on thistles?

as you were told gone for this year but not next i use it almosr every year on some ground we have taken on a yearly basis

Used thistlex on a paddock 4 years ago and only place there was thistlex left was under the hedge where the sprayer couldn't spray, super stuff but pricy!

Any other good product out there that are cheeper?

Well if thistlex is 15 an acre, and it lasts at least 4 years as you know your self,and the other stuff is 7 euro an acre and it has to be done every year, I know which one Id use.

Thistlex is great stuff, why on earth spray every year, even if ya didn't have to pay contractor it'd be senseless.

Can washing up liquid be used as a sticking agent when spraying and if so how much?

Yes. 280 ml per 1000 litres.
