MB Germany 15 year warranty?

My 2003 W211 e200 in the past month has died within a few seconds after starting up. It only happened a couple of times and I thought nothing of it. It otherwise ran perfectly and had oil, oil filter, air filter and spark plugs changed about 6-7 weeks ago. Passed nct a few weeks ago too.

I collected my mother from the airport on Tuesday night and when Inwent to start the car in the airport carpark, it wouldn't start. It was cranking and starting for a few seconds, but seemed like it was being starved of fuel. After about 5-10 minutes, it started. I thought "dirty fuel", but put it out of my mind.

Yesterday, I started and stopped several times, with no issue, mrunning a few errands, but early afternoon, it took a minute to start, having the same problem. I planned to take it to a merc specialist I do some work for today, but in the late afternoon, the car just wouldn't start at all. Again, it ran for a few seconds and died each time. Hitting the accelerator killed it more quickly. Battery is fine. Internet search seems to show fuel pump, crankshaft position sensor, or a leak at fuel pump.

MB USA have extended the warranty to 15 years on the fuel components, but I can't find anything for Europe. Ideas?

Edit: so after writing this, i went out and the car started first time, though it was a bit sluggish for a few seconds. I left it into the garage and the owner said it sounded like it could be either the CPS die to it starting when cold, or more likely the fuel pump. Hopefully ill be motoring by the end of the day and my wallet is not ripped apart.

Edit 2: its the fuel pump. New one going in. New part €250. Will be ready this evening, even though the garage was packed!

Hopefully this helps someone else out.
