Skins is best fun for a three ball I think. Even if someone is out of form they can be kept in it by the ties.

Medford is a novel format....9 stable ford 9 stroke take stable ford score off stroke score. Lowest score wins.

Skins is about all that works for 3 with out it turning into a mental accounting exercise.

Could throw in bonus skins for nearest the pin(have to make at least par!) or any birdies

whoever gets a sandy (up and down from the bunker) wins 50c (or whatever)

Snakes - if you 3 put a green costs you .50c or whatever

Sorry for hijacking now but I've a similar query. 4 of us heading away for 4 rounds. Two have handicaps (13 & 17 but nothing between them) and two don't. Of the two that don't have handicaps, ones a good golfer but plays very little (as likely to shoot a 99 as a 79) the other would also be inconsistent but could easily bring in 36 points off 20. It'd be great if we had things right before the first round. Any suggestions of format etc welcome! I like the idea of forking out for a three putt

Play pairs - draw high low and play similar to Jack O'Sullivan rules. Lowest plays of scratch and 3/4 of difference is given to other players.

Play a 2 man match play scramble. Less pressure and great fun.

Same question and rather than post in a new tread think it will be ok here.

12 of us heading to portugal in Sepember. Playing golf 3 days. Wondering what the best format would be to keep the interest going to the last day. Any ideas?

Three Stableford comps and lowest score over the 3 days pays for the hookers
