Why do single beers be reduced in Dunnes?

Usually in the alcohol fridge in Dunnes there does be a few single bottles or cans marked down liked the expired fruit & veg does be. They're well within date. No visible problems with packaging. Is it because they've come loose from 6-packs?

    Yes.

To confirm this check for a barcode on them, if there isn't one it's because they've come out of a multipack.

When I worked in a Dunnes off licence we did this.
A lot of the time the arse would fall out of a crate of miller. Whatever didn't smash would get a wipe down and then thrown into the loose bottle trolley. Usually €1 each.
Any cans with dents would go in too. Sometimes we'd throw in a spirits with torn/dirty labels.
I picked up a bottle of port with a dented cap for half price once.

    They usually sell quickly.

Watch out for the tiny shards of broken glass stuck to the bottles!

Also if you see any that are being sold cheap because they're not long out of date, they're grand to drink.

I'm confused. Are you saying you wiped arses when you worked in Dunnes?

No its normally because some wineo comes in and drinks 4 or 5 of the bottles from the 6 Pack and leaves the last 1 there out of courtesy

You realise this thread is about beer and not chicken right?

I have seen lads in the beer forum talk of drinking beers 10 years past their "best before" date.

Surely you mean stealing rather than coming into the store and drinking them on the spot lol

There does be little issue with it. I always ignore the date with the beer, no issue there.

    A woman is a lot like a beer;

The multipacks are the young, fertile and well-bosomed women with plenty to offer; long term potential.

The individual, reduced price beers are the mid-30s women; still on the shelf while their pals are off married. What they lack in youth and firmness they make up for in cheapness and will satisfy a thirst.

It would take six young 'uns to satisfy you but only one singular 30 something still fertile and well endowed woman.
