Need Advice - Irish Customs Damaged My Goods And Are Ignoring Me Now

    Hi all,
I'm looking for some advice. I had a parcel sent to me from abroad last week, and when it arrived in the country it was nabbed by customs in Portlaoise Mail Centre.
They sent me a letter to say they were seizing the goods, but I didn't buy them abroad, they were mine that I sold that wasn't suitable for the buyer and were being retuned to me.
I sent them the info to show that the shoes were being retuned to me, so they then released the shoes back to me.

Now, I received the package back a few days ago and when I went to open it I saw that it had already been sliced open by the muppets in Portlaoise and that they actually sliced into the shoes when they were opening it, ruining the shoes with a blade. They are now useless and fit for the bin.

I'm so pissed off about this and want to take it further. I've tried contacting them but they are ignoring me.

Has anyone had a similar experience and can help me out with some advice on what I can do?

    Thanks

    How to complain to revenue

from reading this post, it seems it might have been criminal damage, and slicing open a parcel with a blade seems reckless.

If revenue fob you off, you could make a complaint to the gardaí.
You can also make a complaint to the ombudsman about the revenue.

Not a chance. An accident or carelessness does not rise to the standard of recklessness. At a stretch one might be able to make out negligence.
