When's the rollercoaster open, is everything included once your in or are the rides extra?

The rides are all extra, you need to buy tokens when you get in. The only thing free is the zoo part and the play area. Oh and the tour of the factory, which is not very exciting

They are extra by buying tokens for each ride unless you pay extra for the all day wristband which is €15 for the day and includes all rides*.

*The all day wristband excludes Crispy Creek Mining apparently.

    €11.70 for 15 packs,
Throw crisps in bin if you dont want them and keep bags.
    Entry to TaytoPark €14
Saving of €2.30 (plus 15 free bags if you keep them, not counting the free crisps you collect in the park)

I went on a Tues 1st week of July and it was about 15 minutes to Queue for it, was one of the nicest days of the year so park was quite busy. I'd defo steer clear at weekends during the Summer Hols, and visit during the week.

Unfortunately I can't get any time off work during the week so I have to go at the weekend. I want to do a few re-rides too, so if the queues are longer than 30 mins I'll wait til later in the year.

We went on Saturday just gone. The rollercoaster opened at around 10.45 (not at park opening). We queued for about ten minutes to ride the first time then went back maybe 30 minutes later and the line was longer - we waited maybe 30 minutes but I think there were problems with the ride - it stopped loading for a while.

I went that day too. At about 5:30ish there was not much of a queue with two coasters running. We were able to get off and were back on again in about 5 mins. It was surprisingly brilliant. It's fast.

Under 3's are free of charge. I'd bring a picnic and make your way to where the big playground is, grap a few seats and use that as a base.

The 2 and 3 year old would be too small for the big area, but they have a little kids park as well, although there is not much in it.

The train and animals are covered with the entry.

Then there is an area with spins for the younger kids, just beside the playground. You can pay per go, or buy a wristband for 15 and get unlimited spins. I did this for our 4 year old and he got great use from it.

Other then the spins, he went for a couple of rides on the horses, as with the wrist band it's unlimited goes. And the 5D cinema which was fine for him.

Then went for a quick walk around the dinosaurs, which he also enjoyed.

It's a greet day out, get there early and make the most of it.

sounds like the wristband is a must?

I found it was yea, if you add up what each ride costs in "tokens" and how many times you might want to go on things, it cost me €15 for a wrist band, calculated after that I did almost €40 worth of rides.

Can't seem to find the promotional packs. The ones in dealz didn't mention anything about free entry to tayto park. Are there actual tokens printed on the promotional packets or will any full size empty packet of tayto do?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,929 ✭✭✭beardybrewer

I think products from the likes of Dealz and Mr Price aren't your ordinary stock. For example the cereal will be very nearly expired. Best to stick to the major shops.

We were there a few days ago. We have younger kids 5 and under. Kids had great day. Wristbands are a must for kids but possibly not adults. If kids r small ( less than 1.1 metre)adults go on kids rides free to mind them.
Gave up on tayto packs as too hard to find

My advice is to try a few other dealz stores, was in waterford and there were loads. There's 4 of us heading and we've 60 packets got, I know there not free but it's part of the expense pre paid.

Centra/easons had them at bogof not sure about now.
