    Hi All

Looking to source a 55cm natural gas cooker. Anyone got recommendations for suppliers around Dublin?

Power city / curries just have one zanussi model, it's special order and mad money.

NewWorld do one also, but don't think it's a lot cheaper than the Zanussi and I'd definitely choose the Zanussi over the Newworld.

Newworld and Belling are similar and under the Glen Dimplex umbrella (Newworld seems to be the base brand with Belling being the higher end brand).

Other than that, I doubt you'll find much else in 550mm as it's quite a rare size used, most being either 500 or 600 wide.

Thanks, yea there isn't much choice in going for 55cm appliances, I think the gap is about 57cm without moving anything around.

Its annoying me as I only replaced the work top either side about a year ago. Would be tempted to get another length of the work top, fit a gas hob and pop and electric oven under it. Would probably be a much neater solution long term. But as far as I can tell I can't get an electric oven less than 60cms, but i've only had a quick look.

So picked up a 55cm zanusi natural gas cooker at the weekend. Had it hooked up by an rgi today. Hob works fine, but both ovens have an irregular flame. The rgi ran some tests and is happy with the pressures etc...

Going to ring the shop tomorrow, but seems to be an issues with zanusi cookers. Anyone ever seen this before?

Hmm, not something I'd be too au fait with. Wouldn't have expected Zanussi/Electrolux to be poor, especially compared to New World. As an aside, does the Zanussi still have the catalytic liners in the oven? Electric ones do anyway.

Definitely ring the shop. Did the RGI installer mention previous similar issues with Zanussi cookers in the past. Can't say I've heard of any known issue, but it's LPG up here, maybe it only affects NG.

    Hope you get it sorted.

hey, thanks. I'm a bit surprised too.

Seems like there's a good few issues with them reading the reviews below:-

God, those reviews are quite negative, and pretty much all about the bad oven flame!

I think there'll soon be nothing worth a damn anymore. But that Zanussi isn't exactly cheap, so it's bad form for Electrolux/Zanussi.

Have you got onto the shop yet, as it's surely not fit for purpose?

When you mentioned the single oven and the opening being 57cm wide, are there presses up tight to the edge of that space, or is there empty space. What I mean is, the built in ovens are 60cm on the outside, but the part that recesses would be less than that. Only the door and panel sits proud at 60.

Yea not good reviews at all. The space is about 57cm so went with the 55cm model. Yea emailed power city and they got straight back before 9am this morning, will deliver a replacement tomorrow. Can't say better than that.

Terrible thing is the last cooker was a leisure, was in for 25 years. Replaced the door catch in 1995, never ever gave any other bother.

Fair play to Power City, though I guess they couldn't really argue otherwise.

It'll be interesting to see if the new cooker has the same issues.

Will that mean you'll have to fork out for an RGI man to install the new cooker too?
