Silly Frankfurt airport question re:Gate access

Hi all,

Anyone know the bowels of Frankfurt Airport well?

I'll be flying there on Friday, back Sunday. Just wondering the following. For a game (Geocaching) I would need to get to Gate A42 and take a photo there. Crazy? Yes.

I'm flying with Aer Lingus, and I think, THINK they go from the D or E gates. Is this true? If so/not, is there any way to get to the A42 gate from the D or E, or wherever Aer Lingus operate from, or is it physically seperated via terminals or something like that?

Frankfurt has indoor maps on Google Maps

Not sure where EI fly from, but if not A gates, it looks like a separate area with separate security screening

Also, A42 is the furthest gate from, well, everything.

Can confirm, unless Aer Lingus fly into concourse A you dont have a chance, they dont allow you to change concourse unless you have a valid boarding pass for an onward flight.

the problem is Ireland is not a schengen zone country, thus you have to go through security. Any other european arrivals would most likely end up around A gates.

I wonder have their finished their reconstruction? Last year the place was in mess, getting from B's to A's for a lufthansa connection was not easy

I've flown through FRA a couple times and it is by far the worst airport experience I've encountered, never have I spent so much time in ques, out flight was closing and half the pax were queuing behind me in security it's a mess! Be careful not to miss you flight there is no time to faf about in my experience I went straight from the security onto the plane , it took that long
