Hi guys, I need help with upgrading from steel wheels to alloys on my car, '99 Corsa b.
At the minute it's got 165/70/13's on, I bought some vectra 16's from a friend without tyres.

Would anyone know what tyres would fit, but not be super low profile?(potholes!).

I can't update my op, but the wheel is 6" wide from internal bead to bead.

Lot of tyre calculators available online.

But don't expect very high profile with 16 rim on corsa.

I know,my friend told me they were 15's! Any idea what profile I could go to? Can't seem to find anything online.

175/45R16 would be a close match, or 165/50R16.
    he's some size options

    http://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Tire-Size-Calculator/165-70R13/195-40R16/165-50R16/205-40R16/175-45R16

edit, if you can get such sizes.

Make sure the rims actually will fit the car before forking out on tyres. Sometimes the brake caliper can get in the way of rims not designed for that car.

As above, make sure they fit first. I'd be suprised if they had the same stud fitment.

Definately 4 stud and a perfect fit

    What about 195 50 16?

After doing plenty of measuring it does look like they will fit.

That size tyre might physically fit but according to the calc. it's 7.16% larger overall diameter. Nearly an inch and a half, it'll be like having taller gearing and would throw off your speedo and odometer.

195/40R16 is the best match of commonly available sizes.

I don't remember a 4 stud vectra, are you sure they are not off an astra?

The Vectra A was 4 stud.

195/45R16 is fine on a Corsa B when you have the correct offset. The Vectra A required a similar offset to the Corsa B which is around et50 so once there's no clearance issues they'll fit perfectly with 195/45R16.

Yeah. If it's the 993 3cyl it needs every single meagre pony to move it as is. Heavier, larger circumference wheels would make a complete joke of its acceleration.( as previously noted by nd)

    Turns out they're 15's not 16's, and 195 50 15 will fit fine.
Asmooh, find something better to do with your life. Thanks.
Special Circumstances, it's not actually a slow car, again find something better to do than criticise others.

I'm sorry.. just think its rice. Thats all, your choice and not slow? did you swap the 2.0 turbo engine from calibra? otherwise its slow.

    Oooh touchy!

    If it's the 993cc Corsa B -I've driven one - they're slow. That's a fact.
Larger circumference, heavier wheels will sap power and slow acceleration. That's physics.
    Not criticisms. Get over it.
They are a good starter car or runabout IMO. Felt solid enough. Not a whole pile to go wrong. Low fuel costs and tax. Grand around town.

They're oem vectra alloys, how in gods name can that be rice?
I can't upload a pic, but search google for 5 spoke vectra b alloys.

Hang on, so you're saying every engine that corsas have are slow except the 2.0?
    Wow.

175/50/15 is slightly closer to the original size but 195 isn't too far out.
