Traveling to Barcelona next week for a short break. Was planning on getting the train in from the airport is there an ticket you can get for train / metro / bus for a few days? Staying in La Rambla. Also do I need to buy tickets for the soccer stadium in advance? Any tips would be greatly appreciated

I highly recommend the Aerobus instead of the train. It comes every 5 minutes and gets you to the city in about 20mins. Last time I went I got the train in and the bus back and the bus was a good bit quicker. It's about €10 return.

It's quite a walkable city so you probably wouldn't be using a huge amount of public transport but you can get a 10 trip metro ticket at the machines in every station. I can't remember how much it cost but it averages at about €1.80 a ticket which is a lot cheaper then buying singles.

Not sure about the stadium but if you're visiting the Sagrada Familia definitely get your tickets in advance or at least on the day at your hotel or hostel and print the tickets. You select an hour in which to go and as long as you go in at any time during this hour, you can avoid the hour + queues and spend as long as you want in there.

You can get a turista 10/T10 (10 journey train/metro ticket) for around €9.95 which is valid within the city zone, which is most of Barcelona and includes the airport. The airport train is every 30 mins into Sants, Catalunya and others. The machine is in the airport train station to the right. These tickets are also transferable: person 1 puts the ticket through the machine, takes it out and leaves it on top for the person 2 to use.

For a match you would need to book in advance as the season reaches a head. The stadium tour though, you just go to the Camp and pay in and enjoy from there. La Rambla is very expensive to eat in so I would suggest going a bit further but it does have good stalls for trinkets and some decent shops/bars. There is a very accessible public transport system so make the most of it.
