    Hi.

I a great fan of green tea. But I've been lead to beleive that the stuff in the regular supermarket bought teas is low grade shoite, the sweepings of the factory floor is what ends up in teabags.

I'm looking to get some good quality tea somewhere in the city. I know there was a place on McCurtain street but that's closed.

Is there anywhere else in Cork that sell specialty tea?

The health food shops usually have a decent variety (aside from the fruit/herbal teas). Worth trying a few (anything to get away from the Lyons/Barrys)

I'm told here there is/used to be a place on Fenn's Quay. Is that still in existence?

Place in English Market, not sure of the name, but I went there recently and got a head ache with the amount of different tea bags / leaves they had. It was in the centre of the market near the Chicken Inn...

Plenty spots to scope out now. Thanks.
I'm also told now that that it might be good to check out the ethnic Chinese shops. There is one there on the far up end of Cornmarket street.

Keep the suggestions coming, I'd like to shop around a bit.

Jia Jia on Cornmarket Street is the Chinese shop.
They will have a good selection of tea.
Gunpowder green tea is pretty good.

There's a newly renovated tea shop on McCurtain street (maybe half way down on the right - if your walking away from Patrick street). Not sure of the quality though....I got a grapefruit flavored herbal tea that was fairly meh.

Is it the same tea shop that closed last year on McCurtain Street?

Has anyone any experience of Gurmans Tea and Coffee World on Fenn's Quay?
I just ordered 100g of jasmine and 100g of Sencha on their website, should have it during the week. It cost €14.60 and it is suggested that it would be 50-60 cups per 100g.

I'm not sure, I was never in the older one. It's got pastries too.
