Booking somewhere in phuket is a mine field.

Going in September and everywhere is really expensive. Where are these 5star hotels for 10p everyone has told me about.

    We have about 4 requirements.

    Under 50 quid per night.
    Has WiFi.
Is by the beach with ocean view hopefully.
Is not a stag party destination.
Quiet clean and nice but not too far from everything.

So the perfect hotel for a couple to chill and explore.

Slide to poolside bar from balcony room optional :)

I'm 2 weeks searching now and I'm really lost as to where to stay.

    Thanks in advance all

You won't find any stag parties in Phuket, and also Phuket is one of if not the most expensive part of Thailand so you are not going to get a 5 star hotel for €50,what hotels have you look at already?

I stayed in a place recently that was right next to the beach it had everything you're looking for and was around €50 a night i think, but i wouldn't recommend it as it wasnt the cleanest place which was such a pity because it was in a great location.

I'm guessing you are looking around Patong only hence the expense, September is the start of rainy season in Thailand so it should be a good deal cheaper. If you check Karon or Kata beach they will be cheaper, quieter and still easy to get to Patong via taxi for shopping and more nightlife options.nicer beach in Karon too.

There is plenty of aussie stags and hens that head to Patong, they used to use Bali as the destination of choice but that changed after the terrorist attacks.

The Phuket secret is long since out and Thailand in general is not the ultra cheap destination it once was but it is still cheaper than a lot of western destinations and it should be very possible to get a very nice for star for your budget. I used Trailfinders a few years back and got some free nights thrown in so this could also be worth checking out

Had a look and Trailfinders are doing a pay for one night and get one free in the Centara hotel Karon.

I will do. The cape panwa hotel for 35per night looks nice.

I have a similar thread up and looking at various beaches , maybe worth looking at another island?
Ive took phuket off my list , maybe do a day trip or an overnight but spend more time on a cheaper island and increase hotel standard

Hi Ed, the other half thinks the panda is too isolated so I'm back looking for somewhere in karon or Katz beach. Would you have any recommendations?

    Again.

Smallish hotel with bar\ resteraunt a bit away from the madness.

    On or near a beach.

    WiFi

Within budget. 60 a night Max or 500 total.
Cape panda is perfect as it came in at 502 but wrong side of island :(

I'm gutted! But I've learned cat this stage the other half is always right. Lol

I stayed in the Centara Karon and had no complaints, plenty of room options, nice pools, very nice large restaurant but it's not small. When I booked with Trailfinders I get the 4 nights free deal plus had one dinner thrown in. Nice irish bar called Angus o'Tools if you're getting peckish for home comforts just don't expect any Irish people working there and usually full of Aussies.

Karon is small with some nice bars and restaurants and has a much quieter beach than Patong. You're about a ten minute taxi to Patong which is about 8 Euro each way. Check out the website and see what you think, value for money and location it's hard to go wrong.

Looked there and it really looks a bit too kiddy friendly. Looking back at the cape panwa. It really looks nice. Think I'll go with that.

    Now to book Hong Kong!!!!

Can't say I noticed an overload of kids, in low season it's going to be quiet anyway. Check the usual sites for hotels around Karon or Kata, both are quiet and small. Heading to Hong Kong in a few weeks, my first time so lots of adventures ahead.
