    Hi.
I need to make a few stable doors for my dad.
All of the designs on the web show timber panels
    but I'm wondering if there's any reason I can't
    use steel sheeting?
    Any replies appreciated.

No reason at all. My own Have .
Box iron frame with Sheet on out side and ply board sheet fitted into the frame and held in with 2 crossing laths of flat iron.. timber on inside deadens any noise from kicking and is safer in the long run.
