There are 6 adults in my house & that's the sort of bill I'm looking at.

This household free allowance (not the 100 euro but the free amount of litres) is not fair. A single person living alone would basically get their water for free. Every person living in the house should have free allowance.

Have you checked to make sure you have no leaks. Make sure no water is being used in the house and see if the meter is still running. Check toilets for overflow or dripping taps, you'd be surprised how much water is wasted this way.

Come on now children, it's raining outside. Grab the bar of soap and shampoo and outside with you.

Does that sound like a lot? Seems like an awful lot to me but then again I have nothing to compare that to. Anyone care to post how much they used?

When the meter was installed I checked for leaks and didn't find any.

    Thanks

23.14 cubic metres for two adults which means I'm over the capped amount. This equates to approx 250 litres per day which seems a lot to me. There are no obvious leaks anywhere.

Unfortunately the last digit of the meter is obscured by the transmitter module so it's not possible to see if anything is happening when everything is turned off in the house.

It all depends on what you have in the house. Some old style cisterns flush 15 litres (I actually saw one that flushed 25 litres). New modern cisterns flush 2.5 litres to 5 litres. You'll use 125 to 150 litres to have a bath. A 10 minute shower in a power shower uses 100 to 200 liters. Washing machine 60 to 80 litres. You'll waste 5 litres of water when you turn on the hot tap downstairs before you get water hot enough.
    It all adds up.

Probably a leak. Like I had one the last day 700 Euro bill.

Found a leak I measured 240,000 litres in 3 months.

    Thanks.

That answer is very helpful, exactly the kind of informed opinion people would like to have.

That usage wouldn't be excessive by any means, it would be below average. I certainly wouldn't think you have a leak
