Audi A3 or Honda Civic?

    Hi All,

I will be changing cars shortly and would appreciate some opinions/advice as to which car to go for. I am undecided between an Audi A3 (either 1.6 petrol or 1.9 diesel) around 2007/2008 or a honda civic saloon 1.8 vtec (2007ish). I have been told that the Audi A3s parts/labour can be expensive should something go wrong with them so this would be an issue to consider if true. I am swaying more towards the Honda Civic as I have been told they are a better car all round. Any opinions/advice would be appreciated :)

The a3 wil have a more expensive feeling interior, be quieter, and will just feel more solid. The civic should be more reliable and are generally well equipped.

Thanks for your reply. Do you think the Civic would be quite noisy? I was interested in one on done deal and judging by the pictures it has a sports exhaust, though the fella selling it told me it wasn't noisy. This would put me off as I wouldn't like to be in the boy racer category. Do you think these cars are viewed as a bit boy racer style in general?

I had a few Audis and they all broke my heart driving a CRV now and no problems with it.

Old shape Civic = definite boy racer material.

New space edge shape = not boy racer material.

It's not noisy as such, but it's not as quiet as the a3. It's like most Japanese cars.
I dint think people see them as boy racer cars anymore. That said my insurance isn't as cheap as it could be.

Got a 2007 Civic 1.8 i-VTEC saloon 2 weeks ago and have to say I love it. Surprisingly efficient too as I drive 80 miles a day to and from work!....great machines.
