Would I qualify for a medical card?

    Hello,

    I was wondering if there was any point in me applying for a medical card. Like if my income is obviously way way over the cut off then I wouldn't be bothered applying anyway.

    Basically I'm earning a bollox €25,500 atm and my main expense would be rent of €320 pm and travel to work of €120pm.

    Would that make me ineligible?

    I have a few medical expenses and I simply cannot afford private insurance so I am pretty much stumping up from my own pocket.

    And if I did qualify, would any expenses incurred since lodging the application (or before) be re-claimable?
