I bumped into Mick Jagger during the week, he says to me "this could be the last time, this could be the last time, it may be the last time, I don't know"

Says I to Mick, "No, it's the third last one this week, Mick. Two more after this and then it's over." Quick as a flash, Mick says "ah, that's grand - did you know antepenultimate means third last?" "I didn't Mick, I'll try and slip that into the thread somewhere"

But enough about me, who have we got tonight ...

Ainsley Harriot - you know, Ainsley? Ainsley who did Ready Steady Cook and Can't Cook, Won't Cook for years. Well, he's back doing a new show for More4 and he will be doing a Cooking Demo. When Ainsley was on Tubridy Tonight a few years ago, he called the presenter 'Brian' all night. Coincidentally, so did Christy Burke, the Lord Mayor of Dublin, on the LLS a few weeks ago.

Collette Fitzpatrick is on. You know, Collette? Collette who has presented Midweek, Midday, the News and many other shows on TV3. And she did some work on Newstalk recently. Anyway, she will talk about "a challenging career, feminism and modern demands for women" You go girl.

Christina McMahon is on. She is a new WBC World Boxing World Champion after winning the Interim World Bantamweight title against Catherine Phiri in Zambia. Good for her. We don't get many World Champions

Aodhán O'Riordáin TD is on, the SNS twitter calls him the "Minister for Drugs" His website calls him "Minister of State at the Department of Justice and Equality and Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht with special responsibility for Equality, New Communities and Culture and Drugs Strategy", so Minister for Drugs is a bit snappier, in fairness. I'm guessing he will be talking about Drugs.

Music is from The Eskies and also from a group called .

I don't know much about Ré, and it's not an easy name to google. But I think I remember them being described as "A Drop of Golden Sun", which sounds good. Ahem.

There was a bit of a mess-up last week on the SNS. Margharita Solon, who was talking about McAuley Place in Naas said something like "Text (a number) if you want to show your support for McAuley Place" Unfortunately, she didn't say the text would cost you €4!

I think anyone who texted was offered a refund if they wanted it and they apologised on the SNS Facebook page.

Why can't Brendan wear casual suits on the actual show as well as in the trailers?

Is there a rule in RTE that says that he must wear a smart suit with a tie?

(If so, that might also explain why Nicky Byrne wears what he wears on the Million Euro Challenge.)

    :o  :D;)

The UK Election had no female quotas and the women did grand, youngest MP for 100 odd years was woman and a woman leading SNP.

I would not have guessed that was Rory Bremner! Must have been when he did more light entertainment stuff, he got very political in later years.

He's been fairly off the radar for a while.

I really think chefs are the most uninteresting people in the world.... I eat food so that I dont die, not so that I can tell all my friends where I ate...

Do they write the "jokes" 2 minutes before they go on air?

    Evening all.

Ready Steady Cook: A programme where you could cook a chicken for ten minutes and it would be grand.

Ha, what a great OP. Next time you're talking to him, ask him which he preferred, Beatles or Stones. You'd have to think Beatles.

Anyway, celebrity Arsenal fan Ainsley Harriot? Who doesn't want to know what he thinks about...well anything.

Can't watch the show tonight, away foreign you see. If anyone wants to know what's happening on BBC World News or Euronews, let me know.

Ainsley is launching a new range of pasta and cous cous sauces.

I did a survey about it during the week. I probably shouldn't be talking about it.

    Good Evening All :)

TV needs another chef like Keith Floyd, I loved his programmes and his recipes were very straight forward ..... you just needed to remember to add wine to everything!

I find the language of cash in your hand and point and nod is accepted pretty much anywhere on earth, no need to waste your time knowing the local lingo.

I don't like food, personally. I only eat because I get a pain in my tummy if I don't. I get irritated when I am engrossed in one of my hobbies and I have to drop everything so that I have to bloomin' cook something, or even to eat something already prepared. Ironically I consider it a waste of time!

At least he is well able to talk

I liked Ready Steady Cook. I never made any of the recipes on it but it was a nice format.

It looks so easy, if I had the ingredients in front of me I would have to pause and rewind it a few times and would still end up with a mess going directly in the direction of the bin.

    Be Afraid!

I reckon the SNP will stand outside Scotland in the next Election "Jock McTavish has taken Southampton Test, that was number 273 on their target list"
