Referendum Voting - Constituency or All-Ireland tally?

I'm aware that proportional representation is not used in referenda.
However, I have read online that the votes are tallied on a consituency basis...
Does this mean that even though in Ireland overall, for example, the Yes side could have more votes the No side could win as more constituencies vote no overall?
Or are the constituencies just used for statistics and the overall, all-Ireland, tally is the correct result?
