Register PayPal, 'purchase' free songs, delete payment details from account.

Am I doing something wrong? I clicked on a couple of those and although I get the orange button that says free, when I click, it wants to charge me $1.29.

Only one track on each album is free. Just look down the track listing.

If it's listing the price in dollars, possibly - depending on where you are.
These tracks have been free for a while in the UK but weren't in Ireland until recently. If you see $ as your currency presumably you're connecting from a territory where they're not free (yet) ? If you're connecting from Ireland, have you set your Google Play account up to treat you as a resident of the US? Not sure Uptown Funk is worth the hassle of changing that.

I moved from the US last year - yes, my location is still set to NY. Yet, when I scroll down the list the prices are shown in dollars, and one item on each album is shown as free. One would think it wouldn't show as free, if it's not free in the US market.

Not sure I want to change my location to Ireland, maybe it's some advantage to have a Google profile in the US for some offers. Also I have a Google Voice number (w NY area code) with that account and might lose that if I switched locations.

There is a lot more music for free in the states than over here. I wouldnt change it if I were you. I can pm you where to find it

I know, right? And that "cheap car rental abroad" thread - who rents a car on holiday? I just hotwire one at the airport when I get over there. It's easy.

Just a note, not sure if it's worth creating a new thread over, but if you're on 3 prepay, you can use 3 credit on the google play store. Works great for buying apps/games espc when you have all you can eat data and free texts.
