I'm thinking of having a go at hand painting my kitchen presses/doors.
of which there are about twenty all in ...doors /drawers/panels.

I know they will need a really good cleaning with something like sugar soap or maybe there is something even better available now. I will give them a light sanding for a key.
The presses are washed pine and are about twenty years old.
As they are pine (complete with knots) will that cause a problem .
I saw a Woodies add showing Ronseal One Coat Cupboard paint. (you tube)

    Q:
    Do I need a primer.
    Do I need an undercoat.
What type of paint should I use.

    Any ideas please
    Thanks.

I done this recently. Don't buy the one coat cupboard paint. I did half my kitchen with it and lost the will to live with it. It also took more than one coat and was like painting with treacle. I ran out and then decided to use Standard wood paint and it was half the cost and went on twice as easy and a better finish. Even though it takes a couple of coats it's very easy.

Just light sand, paint first coat and leave to dry properly. Light sand again if needed and then final coat.

Best to use 2 coats of oil based undercoat as the units will get a lot of handling and finish off with a satin.
