Passat B6 Boot issues

    Hi Guys...

I have a Passat B6 2006, and the issue is I seem to have is no power going to either the lights or the Lock in the boot.

The other day a bulb warning light came on the car, I checked the lights and saw that the reversing light was not working. Then no Thursday my boot would no longer open by either the internal switch, exterior handle or the keyfob, but would release on the internal pulley. So I thought that the motor had failed on the boot. I had not used the boot for a few days so they could of happened at the same time.

Yesterday I finally got around to replacing the reversing light but I noticed that the blub looked fine. I then checked the rear fog light in case I was wrong on the light but again all looked fine, I replaced both bulbs with new ones just in case, but still no joy.

I seems that there is no power going to the boot of the car as everything else is working fine, just the boot has the issues....

    Any Ideas?????

Sounds like the wires from the cabin to the boot have been worn out and needs replacing

    Are licence plate lights working?????

This is about another VAG but shows what I mean

You can of course also check in with an auto electrician on your way home.
