How would I know if my incert stove is fitted properly?

The obvious answer is to get it inspected by a Hetas qualified fitter? (It should have been fitted by someone competent in the first place).

But ignoring that, somethings to look for:
    1) Is there smoke coming to the room even when the door and vents are closed?
    2) Is there sufficient heat coming from it when fully fueled? (Vents closed down)
    3) When the stove is fully running and you close down the vents, do you see the flame die down?
    4) Have you a smoke alarm and Carbon Monoxide alarm in place?
