Found this article earlier. Basically a list of most affordable airports to fly to in Europe - what with the dollar being strong and the euro so weak - and Dublin comes out, on average, the most affordable airport to travel to in Europe from the US. Shannon gets in there too. All sounds like a lot of potential growth for Irish carriers and airports. Promising.

Funnily enough, I usually find Shannon to be Cheaper than Dublin. I suppose it depends what terms the survey was done under

TATL specific and likely averaging from multiple destinations some of which would require transfers to SNN.

However, both being in the top 20 of the probably over a hundred TATL airports isn't a bad sign for either.

Ah now I get it. Is that still reasonable findings though?

With the capacity and frequency of Transatlantic flights coming through Dublin, Dublin is bound to be cheaper overall vs. Shannon.

On a related point, the dollar's strength vs. the euro should have an interesting effect on the whole market, especially if parity is reached.
