I recently bought a used version of this model. A problem has arisen when making calls. Whilst a connection can be established the screen goes completely blank making it impossible to use the keypad to enter data or to actually end the call - which can only be done by removing the battery.
    Incoming calls are displaying normally.
    Any opinions on this ?

Ive A G510(more or less the same) and that usually happens when you have changed settings to do with the kernel.

    Is it stock firmware?

Can you define what exactly you mean by stock firmware ? Thanks.

If you don't know what stock kernel is, perhaps try finding a friend with more experience to look at it for you? Can be troublesome enough trying to flash a new kernel if you've no idea what you're at.

Sounds like a faulty proximity sensor imo

Id second that if your having issues with doing something as simple as doing a call.

If you want to have a go then factory reset and start from there and see. But that means losing apps settings etc

Looked online to see if anything else came up

Clean the screen, top left beside the earpiece youll see a led light, clean well around that

    Check your screen timeout

Check the power button, could be dirt and not making a contact, the same if you have a cover

Install kinscreen, the free version will do

Open it and move your hand beside the speaker
If the proximity word doesn't change or go red it's broken

I did that. It's working. Is there anything in the settings menu I should change ?

Im lost so, off to a phone repair place and get them to look at it and tell them what you tried before they say its a proximity sensor

Given it's current value it's probably only worth selling for parts.

If that's the case and you cant use it as a phone , take the sim out and

Install here maps, download maps and voices, set to offline and use as a satnav

    Mp3 player

    Internet radio

    Ebook reader

    Camera/videos

    Surfing net etc
