Had a sore tummy from laughing at one of the cows this morning. She was away down on the moor by herself roaring into the gripe, I thought perhaps her calf had gone in but no, counted all the calves I had around me and all there.

Went down to her and wasn't the bloody eejit mad in heat........roaring in at two horses. :D

Remember a lad tellin me a story where he'd parked his car on st Stephens green to head off around town and when he came back it had been broken into, windows smashed and all.so off he goes looking for a guard to report it to, finds one and the guard says 'it was probably junkies'
    lad- 'no defiantly wasnt'
    guard-'why ya say that'
lad-'cause he didn't take the syringes!'

I saw a unusual sight early this morning (7.15am) in a field just outside Castledermot. Unfortunately I was driving and could not stop to take a picture as we were under pressure to get a delivery of calves on time.
There was probably 150 maybe more, shorn ewes lying head to toe on a small hillock on what looked to be bare clay in a field of nice grass that was 20 acres or more. There was about 20 or so ewes lying in the field. I think they were Blue Faced Leicester as they had that dome/roman nose but I am probably wrong.
The farm is on the left hand side coming from Moone into Castledermot. I know that road well, having travelled it for many years and the same farm used to have super Charolais cattle.
Anyone have any ideas why they would be lying on clay and on top of one another.
