Hi everyone. Im new here. I need a little advice and dont know who to ask.
My stepdad went in to hosptial to have a hip op 2 months ago. Docs say that the operation went find but when my stepdad came out he wasnt the same person. At the start he was very aggressive and even had to have security with him cas he was so aggressive. He was giving the doctors and nurses all kinds of verbal abuse and trying to take out his lines and get out of bed. He was never like this before.

the aggression died down after a few days. I went up to see him with my sister and he didnt know us. The whole time we were there he was just rambling to himself. We were there about an hour or so and we didnt understand a single word he said.

It is 2 months later now. i went up to see him today with my mother and i cant see any improvement. The doctors dont seem to be giving any answers to what has happened.
if he stays like this he is going to need full time care.

what can we do to find out what has happened?
can we get a second opinion from another doctor?
can we get an investigation into the surgery and find out if something went wrong?
any advice offered would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

op, nobody here can tell you what has happened, and to speculate would be foolish and irresponsible. You need to arrange for your family to meet the consultant in charge of his care formally and ask your questions there.
