    Hey there.

I have a upc connection upstairs and downstairs. I had trouble with my routers wifi and they replaced the router with a new one and told me I could keep the old one. New on is set up downstairs.

Can I connect the old one upstairs and use both at the same time. If so would speed on each be halfed?

    Hope that makes sense!

No, you can't/shouldn't be able to as UPC have to authorise the modems attached to their network.

if the second modem was active, and had a valid account, yes, you can have 2 cable modems in a house... and no, you wont get half the speed on each... you will, however, get 2x the bill... I have 2x240mb connections currently, and they both work grand...
