Did you get any recommendations from your course?
Where do you want to work?
What group of people do you want to work with?

Joining an Agency would be a good place to get experience of both or even home care, though hours for that have been brutally slashed in recent years.

As Dozen Wicked Words say, most people who finish on these courses start building their hours with Agencies, and then when they have 6 months or so experience look for work in their chosen field. On your course you will learn about the different areas, and get a feel for them. Elder home care, nursing homes, hospitals, people with disabilities, young people in care etc. Each has their challenges and rewards. Don't box yourself in yet, leave your mind open to all the possible career options. Good luck tomorrow :)

there is a good bit set aside for nursing home costs :

“A HSE Midlands Information Document published May 2012 provided an insight into the reality of public nursing home costs. It cited average costs per bed well beyond €1,245 and up to €2,500. (per week)"

might be a safe bet for a while
