Hi are there any users that have any problems with the above freesat plus recorder box, this box was installed in place of basic sky box that was used for the free to air channels only and which worked perfectly,
when the new manhattan receiver was installed I fitted a quad lnb to the solid dish and ran an extra cable to feed the twin tuner box.
now I have intermittent problems with failed recordings and sometimes the box will just lock up and get stuck in standby, the only way to reset the box when this happens is to unplug it from the mains,
    this has happened several times,
I contacted manhattan via email and the asked me to check the signal,
the signal strength is 70 % and quality 67%
there is no picture break up even during heavy rain now the say 67% is too low,i put back the old sky box and that works ok,
does anyone know if these manhattan receivers are not very sensitive and need more signal than other receivers

Your quad lnb could be on the way out - it looks like an ageing system.
Depending on the location, I would usually start at the dish, check cables, signal strength etc

I would then look at the maximum signal strength obtainable at the LNB, if the best alignment I can get at the dish only achieves 60 - 70 % on a good day, I would change the lnb.

If you have 80-90% at the dish, I would check the connections both at the receiver and lnb for signs of corrosion, water ingress etc. Then look for breaks in the cable, poor screening etc.

If you have a great signal at the set top box and still getting problems, the tuner in the box is probably worn out - Its a while since I bought a Manhattan receiver, I bought two units back in the day at 450 IR Punts a pop both had eprom issues within 2 years - I never bought one or even took a free one again!
